is a web portal for the public to gain access to the world of gastronomical and cultural delights of England. This information has traditionally been difficult to access on the Internet. This site, discover-england, has been setup to conquer this problem.
Around the country there are 'Farmers Markets' and 'Country Markets' every weekend that supply goods produced by many small family-run farm businesses. The produce of these family businesses are often fine foods and drinks which are only available from a select number of local shops and the from these farmers markets. The Discover England site makes finding information about what markets and what stores are present in your area simple.
If you know of a market in yur town that isn't in the database you can easly add it so that othere people can find infomation about the market at any time. To add or amend a market you can use the links in the Admin menu from any page.
Added public editing of market pages. This now means that you no longer need to have an account on discover-england to add or edit a market page, but you will still ned an account to add a store / stall.
I have put the Discover-England project back on the web and am now working on it to get it ready for the prime time.
I haven't hade the time to take the website from 'nigh finished' to complete un till now. So as of this month all test data has been removed and is ready for the 'big bad world'.
As of this week the farmers market website at discover-england.co.uk is in a state of near completion and very little more will be done to it over the next 8 weeks as I write up all of the documentation and the actual assignment. If you happen to stumble across this site and think that you might be interested in having your market or stall listed on the site please email me at market@discover-england.co.uk with a quick rundown of what you do (run a local market or run a stall selling ...) and I will create an account for you. Once an account is created you can fill in a few short forms online to have your own micro-site to promote what you do.
New website started for the Farmers Markets website. This is for a HND project for college. More about the project can be found in the Admin section of the discover-england site.
